Oliver Preciado Ponce is a Los Angeles-based Cinematographer and Photographer with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Raised in Norwalk, California, Oliver directed his first play at 12, sparking a lifelong passion for visual storytelling. He worked his way up through the camera department—starting as a Camera PA and Film Loader to becoming a Union Camera Operator—on projects like Constantine, The Dark Knight Rises, American Horror Story: 1984, and Code Black. His expertise also extends to visual effects, contributing to acclaimed films like Interstellar and The Matrix Resurrections.
In 2016, Oliver founded Olivonstudios, a creative production company specializing in music videos, commercials, narrative shorts, and corporate videos. Under his leadership, the studio has partnered with high-profile clients such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles Music Center, and Now Art LA. Olivonstudios also focuses on socially conscious projects, producing documentaries for Now Art LA and Alliance Charter Schools that highlight stories from Los Angeles’ underserved communities. Since 2016, Oliver has also served as the art director for the annual New Year’s Eve Roaring Twenties celebration at Union Station, an iconic event attended by over 2,000 guests each year.
Beyond his studio work, Oliver’s photography and art have been featured in galleries, fashion shows, and installations across Los Angeles, earning partnerships with brands like Chevy and Monster. His short documentary LA Rises, chronicling the George Floyd protests, has won international awards. Most recently, he completed Camera Operating on Unstable and High Potential, directed a short film titled The Fear, and shot a music video for Joey Valence and Brae.
